Bad Future - TV Tropes. The future ain't what it used to be. The heroes are sent into the near future (common intervals are 5, 1. Crapsack World. Usually the villain(s)have taken over. They may even encounterthemselves. La R. Typically they go back in time to Set Right What Once Went Wrong. Thus all the heroes have to do to fix things is return to the present. It's a good (or cheap, depending on the execution) way of becoming Darker and Edgier and adding tension while working under Status Quo Is God. If a series gives only a brief glimpse of the Bad Future instead of actually going there, it may be Storyboarding the Apocalypse. If the reason the bad future is so bad is because The Bad Guy Wins, it's a Villain World. Sometimes the characters find out about the Bad Future via an Ominous Message from the Future rather than Time Travelling themselves. They do sometimes appear as an epilogue to show that the heroes did in fact succeed in changing the future. Shangri'la, an empty world created solely to bring about the convergence of all other time spaces, and La'Cryma, a battered world that is under assaulted by Shangri'la. The murder is prevented by sending (Young) Yuu to Isami, to remind Isami of who he really is, and tell him that Ai needs him. Isami then comes running to the roof of the hospital to stop Ai. Miho is brought back by Atori, of all people. By Shangrila's space- time power, and Haruka's power as the Dragon Torque, it is HIGHLY LIKELY that if they'd died in this alternate future vision, they would be dead. Buy Mass Effect Collection. It is also somewhat implied that this future is similar to Lachryma's past. The 9 previous years were apparently peaceful and prosperous, though. The guardians are still alive, the world has yet to be conquered by the Big Bad, the invention of the Vongola Boxes and Vongola Decimo is still alive! Rare inverted example in Future Diary, where a parallel dimension is created, and through a series of events, the survival game is prevented, and everyone's bad future is prevented. Reisuke's parents are still alive and happy together, Tsubaki has two loving parents who are still alive and the Religion of Evil is actually a benevolent group, Yuno is a completely normal girl with friends, and Yuki doesn't even know her, having his own girlfriend as well. The premise of that spin- off is the world and the entire mankind have been burnt to ashes by a Mazinger- Z turned Eldritch Abomination in the future, and Robot Girl Minerva- X sends Kouji Kabuto back in time to save everybody. However they are locked into a Groundhog Peggy Sue loop since Kouji has failed every time so far, and Minerva keeps sending him back because she can trust no one else. They have repeated the same cycle almost three thousand times when the series starts, so it seems not matter what Kouji does, the world is doomed. Naturally, this doesn't stop Negi, who finds a way back to Set Right What Once Went Wrong. Quite arguably (and this was a source of much angst for Negi), this was actually a Good Future (for the world as a whole, at least; less so for the main cast). She and her compatriots never mentioned it, downplaying it as something relatively trivial. Chapter 2. 98 reveals that it's far from trivial: a horrible, century- long war between Earth- born and Mars- born humans, brought about by Mundus Magicus' collapse. The Future Badass's reason for going back in time is NOT to prevent the timeline from ever coming to pass (since his paradox- resistant time travel creates tangent universes that unfold independently of the original timeline). One of the reasons why the Bad Future doesn't happen in the main timeline are the androids themselves. They are stronger than Trunks' counterparts, but they are not Ax- Crazy. Omnicidal Maniacs like them and they are not interested in killing people besides Goku, but they probably wouldn't kill him, because the reason they pursue him in the first place is that they want to entertain themselves and Goku is the strongest person on Earth they haven't fought. During a flashback, he informs the others that Bulma, the mastermind behind his trip, had two objectives: 1) She wanted Trunks to fight and explore the past with Son Goku and co. If objective number one proved to not be enough, Trunks wanted to have Goku come to the future with him so Goku could defeat the androids for them. Fortunately, with the power boost he gained from training in the past, Trunks is finally able to destroy the androids.. Future Bulma gets even killed by the unknown enemy.. He was too much for Trunks he has to go back in time to get help. The intro to the first episode of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. It was possibly initially intended to be a flash- forward to later events in the series, but with the direction the series eventually took it instead appears to show one of these: Namely, one in which Simon failed to heed the Anti- Spirals and continued to abuse Spiral Energy, triggering a war between dimensions. Yu- Gi- Oh! 5. D's: This is what the antagonists of the Infinity Arc were trying prevent. About 2. 00 years after the protagonist's time, the human race had made considerable technological progress thanks to Momentum (a perpetual energy machine that uses Planetary Particles which respond to people's hearts), however they grew greedy, apathetic and conceited. This coupled with the overuse of Synchro Summons eventually caused the Momentum network to go out of control and self- destruct, recreating Zero Reverse on a much larger scale. In Fairy Tail, Erza attempts to perform a Heroic Sacrifice in order to save all her friends. While doing so, however, she gets a brief glimpse of her own funeral where everyone is tearfully mourning for her, and Natsu, who witnesses her sacrifice, refusing to accept her death and having to be restrained when he flips out—naturally, this is far from the future Erza intended. Natsu averts this future by saving Erza before she can carry out her sacrifice. The first has 1. 0,0. Eclipse, destroying everything in their path (Future Lucy's future). The second has the Dragon King Acnologia conquer the world (Future Rogue's future). The first one was averted with Eclipse's destruction and the resulting paradox. As for the second, well, it remains to be seen. But seeing as how the end result was an uninhabitable wasteland swarming with horrific monsters, it can't have been anything good. The Senshi end up travelling forward with her and fighting the evil force which has invaded Future! Earth. Becomes a bit of a Timey- Wimey Ball since there is a lot of travel between the present and the future, both by heroes and by villains, and Present! Mamoru and Usagi learn things which ought to help them avert the Bad Future in the first place, but apparently they don't because they need to go forward in order to learn them. It is unknown if this ruined future is the same world as the original TV series or AO's world, and is not known whether did Ao firing the final shot of the Quartz cannon averted this future from happening. It's a different universe with different people and Mobile Suit designs, but events pretty much play out exactly the same way right up until the point things get pear- shaped and all the space colonies fall on Earth. A small resistance remains, comprised of the 1. And there are spaceships and magical dragons, for some reason. The latter part is revealed to be an interview with U. S. President Katherine Pryde. That's not even going into the aforementioned . He suspects their attempts to avert that future actually made things worse. Apocalypse's Arch- Enemy. Cable does originate from a timeline 2,0. Apocalypse. The remaining world is a Cyber Punk Hell where sickeningly corrupt Mega. Corps have replaced the government, allowing them to charge people subscriptions to police protection, overturn court decisions, or secretly feed their own employees addictive drugs to boost sales. Doctor Doom is the one who sets things aright. Lord Chaos created this dystopic world where he controls everything with drugs. The villains pretty much mind control all of the heroes, and of course, Batman is the only one who can set everything right again. He later got home and had to prevent the Bad Future coming to pass (symbolic first gesture, uprooting a sapling that he had seen grown to a tree in the future). Spawn and the Wild. CATS get thrown into the future where the world is ruled by a tyrannical super- sorcerer and most of our heroes are secretly fighting against him. The twist is that Spawn himself turns out to be the tyrant, having been given the idea by visiting this future in the first place. Our heroes manage to undo the bad future when Spawn finds out one of the resistance members is actually his ex- wife's daughter, and then she dies a moment later. Spawn promises to never let that happen, which undoes the timeline. But of course, it just means even MORE angst for ol' Spawny. At one point in an Avengers and Power Pack crossover, the Pack gets thrown into one of these by Kang, where they meet Bad Ass- looking future versions of themselves. The Monarch rules the Earth with an iron fist and controls everything. This one subverts the premise by having a character from the bad future go back to the present, instead of sending present day characters to the future. Due to Executive Meddling, the story was changed, originally Monarch was supposed to be Captain Atom but in the finished version, he's Hawk from Hawk and Dove. They swiftly take over the world, put most of their enemies in concentration camps and institute a Fourth Reich. Princess Peach - Mario. Wiki - Wikia. Thank you for rescuing me, Mario! She is the damsel- in- distress in most of the Mario games. She has a love for the color pink, as almost all of her dresses have a shade of the color. She is named after a fruit in the real world, and also one that appears occasionally in RPGS; the Peachy Peach. Princess Peach is occasionally a key supporting character of the plot, and sometimes a playable character. Her most notable appearance is as the heroine of Super Princess Peach. She has also shown her fighting abilities in Super Mario Bros. Super Mario RPG, Super Paper Mario, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Super Smash Bros. Princess Peach's first game as the main character, Super Princess Peach, has been released worldwide on February 2. When Bowser kidnaps her and invades the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario arrives in hot pursuit of the Koopa King. She isn't playable in. Princess Peach (then called Princess Toadstools)'s first appearance. Throughout the game, Mario is told she is in another castle than her previous one, but by the end of the game she is saved. At the ending she says thank you to Mario when he rescues her. In the English version, she plays a joke on Mario, saying ! In this game, she has red hair instead of her usual blonde. This is the first time that Princess Toadstool is a playable character. Though Princess Toadstool seems to be the slowest and weakest amongst the 4, her difference in gameplay is her ability to flutter in the air for a short period time, a little similar to the one performed by Yoshi, however Yoshi can go upwards for a few seconds whilst 'flutter jumping'. Ludwig Von Koopa can also do this trick. Instead Bowser (King Koopa) manages to kidnap the Kings and Guards of the Kingdom with the help of the Koopalings leaving Princess Toadstool helpless. Princess Toadstool then asks Mario and Luigi to save them. After completing Pipe Land, Peach gets kidnapped again as well leaving Mario and Luigi to save her too. When they arrived, they found out Bowser was there too when he kidnaps Peach again. The Marios with their new friend Yoshi travelled through the different areas of Dinosaur Land battling Bowser's troops and Koopalings until they reached his castle and fought him on the roof. After hitting him with his Mechakoopas six times, Bowser drops Peach from his flying Clown Car and is sent spinning out of control into the distance. Princess Peach invites Mario to her castle to eat some cake she had baked, but once Mario arrives, it is revealed that Princess Peach had been kidnapped by Bowser once again, and that many stars found inside of paintings (which can be jumped into, revealing episodes for a stage) must be restored in order to make progress in the game. In the end, Bowser Koopa gets the power of all the stars, and Mario must defeat King Bowser Koopa in order to get Princess Peach back. In the end, Princess Peach gets saved and thanks Mario, inviting him to eat some of her cake. In the DS remake, the story is the same except with Wario, Yoshi and Luigi. In an advertisement video on the plane taking them to Isle Delfino, Princess Peach discovers a shadow that looks exactly like Mario, holding a paint brush. But Mario and Toadsworth aren't aware of the shadow, considering the fact they were too caught up in the great things they saw in the advertisement video. When arriving, a mysterious goo called Goop was found on the runway. Mario finds a talking, spraying robot called F. L. U. D. D. Gadd and uses it to spray away the Goop. Mario is then accused of making the mess in the first place (considering the fact that the real person who made the mess was an imposter of Mario) and is told he must clean up the mess. Later, Peach is kidnapped again by the imposter of Mario, named Shadow Mario. When Mario catches up with him, he must fight Mecha Bowser. After defeating it, Shadow Mario reveals his true form, being Bowser Jr., this game being his first to appear in. After explaining that the paint brush (which was the item being used to make this whole mess) was made by E. Gadd, and explaining that Bowser was once again behind this whole mess and had tricked Bowser Jr. Later, Mario finds Bowser Jr., still disguised as Shadow Mario, and defeats him. After this, a flood occurs at Delfino Plaza, making it possible for Mario to get into the volcano, called Corona Mountain. After finding Peach, Bowser, and Bowser Jr. As a matter of fact, Princess Peach doesn't have any sleeves on her dress in this game. She gets taken into Outer Space, along with many of the Toads, and Mario takes it upon himself to go progress through different galaxies to save her. Sometimes, she sends letters containing 1- up Mushrooms to the Comet Observatory. Wii, like most of the other games, Princess Peach is kidnapped by King Bowser Koopa once again after his kids, hidden in a giant cake, take her away. Mario has to go through different Worlds in order to save her. When he saves her, she is found in a little cage. After this, the two fly away in a little hot air balloon. But when Mario arrives at the castle, he sees King Bowser Koopa in a huge form holding Princess Peach, saying that maybe she would bake a huge cake for him, and wanting to create a huge empire that was more . Mario travels to the end of the first segment of World 8 to rescue her, where he finds that it is but a cardboard cutout. King Bowser Koopa shows that he indeed has the true Princess, so he grabs her and runs to the end of the second part of World 8, where Mario rescues her after beating King Bowser Koopa for a second time. Peach appears as a playable character in this game. Peach can use new powerups such as the Super Bell, and even use a Fire Flower to become Fire Peach. He used his castle to lift hers into space using the star rod. Mario is defeated since King Bowser Koopa is invincible. In this game after each chapter, you can play as her. She goes through the castle with the help of Twink the star kid. She finds out where each new star spirit is and Twink tells Mario where to go. She and Twink also battle Kammy Koopa in the final Battle. Her wishes give enough power to Twink to beat Kammy and for the star spirits to undo the new King Bowser Koopa's Invincibility. Though before he gets there she is this time captured by the X- Nauts because they need a host for the Shadow Queen. She is held in the X- Naut Fortress the Moon. She teams up with TEC- XX, the base's main computer, to try to escape the base and find out their real intentions. TEC fell in love with her, which is the reason it teamed up with her. In the final battle, the Shadow Queen uses Princess Peach's body to fight. When the Crystal Stars give Mario the power to hurt the Shadow Queen, Princess Peach gives Mario the rest of her power to restore his power. Count Bleck forces a marriage between King Bowser Koopa and Princess Peach to create the Chaos Heart. Peach is the first to be secretly released by Dimentio. She actually gets to join Mario in this game as the second of 4 heroes. Her abilities are using her parasol to fly, using it as a shield for infinite defense, and normal jumping. Her final battle is against Mimi, who insults her about always being rescued by Mario and Luigi. Peach gets mad and demands that the Mario Bros let her do this battle alone. When Mario is fighting Count Bleck and he is still invincible, she along with Luigi and Bowser show up and the Pure Hearts Start to work. She can be used to face the last two battles along with Bowser and Mario and is the best choice for people who want to 'play safe.'. Peach, by far, plays her smallest role in the Paper Mario series in Paper Mario: Sticker Star. She is seen in the very beginning celebrating the annual Sticker Fest to honor the arrival of the Sticker Comet. However, things get tense after Bowser touches the Sticker Comet and it is split into six Royal Stickers. It is revealed a little later that she was once again captured by Bowser. Peach is then again seen in the very end after Mario defeats Bowser and she concludes Sticker Fest. She then joins in with Mario in the parade. She is the fourth lightest of all the racers and she and Yoshi both have the highest acceleration and good handling, but the lowest top speed. When she is computer- controlled in Grand Prix, she will lay a Poison Mushroom that will cause anyone to shrink while at their normal size if they hit it, but to grow back to their normal size when small (Toad uses it as well). She wears her pink dress, and her hair moves when turning. She is the third lightest in the game and has the third highest top speed. Her home course is Royal Raceway (Peach Circuit in Japan), and this is also the first Mario Kart game where she has a home course. Unlike the other games, she is lighter than Yoshi. Her home course is Peach Circuit, which itself is revamped for the first time. Her home course is Peach Beach. This is the first Mario Kart game where she wears her hair in a ponytail, but the second Mario Sports game where she wears her hair in a ponytail, and she wears her hair in a ponytail in subsequent Mario Kart games and other sports games as well. In Mission Mode, she has to race against King Boo. She is advanced at drifting corners and has average item use. Her home course is Peach Gardens. Also, her home course from Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Peach Circuit, reappears as a Retro Course.
